Message from Amicable
[edit]HI JJJ, I have to admit I also am kind of freaked out by Swatjester's response. All I was asking is to not bite the newcomers. This account is a sock-puppet of mine because I'd rather use my ordinary account for editing as these kinds of disputes are quite common on Wikipedia and the person who is right doesn't always win which I think is a very bad thing for Wikipedia's reputation and I hope to change that with this sock-puppet. Cheers! ^_^ --Amicable 07:11, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- A very commendable role indeed. Keep it up! (JJJ 14:36, 14 April 2006 (UTC))
Kung Fu
[edit]Hey Jjj, I want to brush up on my Kung Fu skills because it has been a LONG LONG LONG time since I ever studied or practiced. Can I take lessons from you? ^_^ --Amicable 07:17, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi! Sure thing...but you'll have to live in Vancouver, BC :D What did you learn before? (JJJ 14:37, 14 April 2006 (UTC))
Thanks

Greetings
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm sorry you got involved in a mix up about adding external sites to articles but I'd like to advise you not to worry too much about it. WP is a huge place, and generally our editors are an easygoing bunch. Your response to your messages shows me that you were editing in good faith. Somewhere in our voluminous pile of policies (and I don't think it is an official policy, rather an informal one) it says that we shouldn't add our own websites to articles, and we do get a lot of people just spamming our articles, so I hope you'll understand why things happened the way they did. Regardless, I also hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --Fire Star 15:50, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- Great, I'll come by to do some research -- much of what I read so far is well written and very insightful. I may actually come to you with questions too :P All the best, JJJ. (JJJ 20:01, 15 April 2006 (UTC))
